At Blockout, skills training is an option throughout the year, which enables athletes to work on their craft independently of any external schedule. Choose between group or individual skills sessions, seasonal programs, camps and position specific clinics to improve your performance regardless of your level.

Blockout Academy
Blockout Academy is located in Homewood, a beautiful suburban town just south of the city of Birmingham, AL.
It was founded in 2016 by Nevena Taylor, aka coach Nev, a former professional and college athlete, who, after a brief detour in the world of business management, wanted a way back to volleyball.
The Academy's name, Blockout, is a homage to the first school of volleyball coach Nev ever attended, back in her home country of Serbia.
Blockout Academy was created with the idea of being a unique training facility, working exclusively with female athletes, inspiring them to be the best version of themselves. It is a product of pure love for the game of volleyball, but not just that. It is also a place where any athlete, regardless of their skill level, can pursue their love and passion for volleyball.
Coach Nev
Coach Nev is a Serbian born former professional and college player. She moved to the United States after receiving a full athletic scholarship at University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Coach Nev holds two degrees from UAB - a BA in Psychology, as well as an MA in Clinical Nutrition/Dietetics.
She founded Blockout Academy with a vision of a training facility that welcomes all female athletes, regardless of their skill level; a facility that is about more than just athletic training - a place where girls learn how to work hard, play hard and build a champion’s mindset.
Passionately dedicated to inspiring and motivating girls to train, get better, and dream big, coach Nev's vision lies at the heart of Blockout Academy.
Outside of her busy life as the owner and director of BOA, coach Nev enjoys a quiet lifestyle with her three children and a loving husband coach Dj Taylor. In rare moments of leisure, she enjoys cooking for her family, homeschooling her children, growing and cooking organic food as well as reading and studying awesome people.
